Two Dead Simple Ways To Record Acoustic Guitar
When I was first starting to record my own music, one of the more difficult instruments (for me) was recording acoustic guitar. I would rather omit the acoustic from my songs (or worse – plug the acoustic in and record a DI).
If you’re having trouble recording your acoustic guitar, I want to give you two super easy methods to record your instrument. You don’t need an expensive microphone, or even an expensive guitar. One sub-$100 microphone will do the trick. Check it out!
The re-emphasize what I said at the end of the video: these are not the only two ways to record acoustic guitars. These are simply two great starting points. There are no rules: you’re free to add microphones, move them around, put a microphone in the room to get some more ambiance. Use these two methods as a guide to get you moving in the right direction.
Happy recording!
PS – I run a little passion project called National Solo Album Month (NaSoAlMo) during the month of November. It’s a creative challenge to write, record, and release an album in the span of a month. It’s absolutely free, there’s no catch – just register, sign up for this year’s challenge, join the community, and start creating this November!
